Prof. Michael Schwertel, born in 1973, is a lecturer, producer, creative professional, and conducts workshops and presentations. Within his professorship for Media Management, he focuses on innovations, social media, creativity, and possesses a vast experience both theoretically and practically at a very high level. As a practical pioneer in media fields such as digital image processing, HDTV, stereoscopy, augmented reality, he has always been a few steps ahead of his time.

Prof. Michael Schwertel, born in 1973, is deeply involved in various media disciplines. His work includes designs for cinema, TV commercials, short films, realtime or interactive AR and VR applications on the internet. As long as it moves and triggers a reaction in the user/viewer, it falls within his transmedial work spectrum. Clients include T-Com, Deutsche Bahn, ZDF, ARD, WDR, RTL, Sat.1, ntv, Bertelsmann. During his studies at the Academy of Media Arts, several trips to Los Angeles and England brought him to Hollywood productions by PDI, Disney, and Sony Pictures Imageworks. Both during and after his studies, he was active as a media entrepreneur ( blurmedia, Power-Toons) and produced and marketed his own products and designs. Since 2007, he has been on the nomination committee and jury of the (Grimme Online Awards), scouring the web for new internet trends. In 2024, he was a juror in the Children and Youth category of the Grimme Award. Since 2011, he has held a professorship in Media Management at the CBS International Business School at the Cologne campus, focusing on Crossmedia.
